Eddie Bauer Stroller Reviews and Ratings

Eddie Bauer is well-known for casual clothing apparel, shoes and accessories outdoor wear and gear. This American company decided to take on a line of juvenile products licensed by Dorel Industries in cooperation with the Dorel Juvenile Group, who also manufactures such brands as Cosco, Safety 1st and Quinny. This company also makes a lovely, classic-looking Eddie Bauer wood high chair.

In an effort to create an outdoor brand awareness in strollers, Eddie Bauer ended up with strollers that have gotten mixed reviews. To their credit, the reviews have gotten better, and their models have changed, perhaps putting more effort into product improvement. Eddie Bauer travel systems, however, are a class act getting some excellent reviews.

At the time of this writing (early 2011), Eddie Bauer strollers come in two different types:

• Tandem Strollers

Some of these categories have only one or two models to choose from, but the travel systems section has three models with many styles.

Classic describes the look of these Eddie Bauer strollers and matching car seats. There are many colors and fabric patterns to choose from, but you have to look for them on different online sources or at an actual store such as Target, Sears or Walmart.

These travel systems were made for newborn babies; the car seats can hold a baby between 22 and 35 pounds, depending on the travel system. Most of these strollers can accommodate a child up to 50 pounds, so you can look forward to many long years of use.

Each travel system has gotten high reviews from owners, with the most compliments about how good these strollers look with the fabric patterns.There are three different models to choose from.

Moms rave about how comfortable each Eddie Bauer stroller is for their children and the puzzle locking system on the safety harness. One mother commented that her baby preferred to sleep in his car seat it was so comfy! The base is easy to install and the car seats are side-impact tested for safety.

The main features of the strollers and car seats include a five-point padded safety harness and padded multi-position fully-reclining seat. Your little one gets a snack tray with drink holder and a sun canopy. Parents appreciate the one-handed fold mechanism and their cup holders and organization tray. The large storage basket with drop-down feature is also a huge plus for shopping days and for lugging around a big diaper bag.

This Eddie Bauer stroller has gotten mixed reviews, mostly on the negative side. The only review for the current model pictured at right was a one-star rating from an unhappy customer from Sears. She says this stroller does not fold or unfold very easily, the wheels don't turn very well making steering impossible.

This stroller has no parent cup holders or tray and the storage pouch it does have is insufficient. There was an overall dissatisfaction with the storage basket on this stroller and parents of previous editions of this model say this stroller is too heavy for the size. Be aware that the front seat does not recline, so this is not the stroller you want for twins.

The positives on earlier editions of this model is that it looks and feels like a single stroller, which is good for going shopping down narrower aisles and not taking up too much room. The compact folded size is also a big plus and the rotating handles make it comfortable to push.
