Eddie Bauer Travel System

The Endeavor Travel System

The Endeavor is an Eddie Bauer Travel System especially designed for the preemie or premature baby.

Parents love this full-featured stroller with matching car seat that comes in several attractive patterns and colors. Travel systems have enjoyed tremendous popularity with parents who don't want to disturb their sleeping baby going from stroller to car to home.

The Endeavor is a step up from the Eddie Bauer Adventurer travel system in that it has more features and is a bit more cushy.

There are several stand-outs about this Eddie Bauer travel system and the SureFit infant car seat is one of them. What's really nice about this Eddie Bauer travel system is that the car seat has a removable insert that is specially made for babies as small as 4 pounds - one pound smaller than most brands.

The base is easy to install and adjust for optimal safety and this SureFit car seat can hold a baby up to 22 pounds. The SureFit is made excursively for Eddie Bauer travel systems and weighs nine pounds.

There is so much more to the fabulous Eddie Bauer Endeavor Travel System. Reviewers give this stroller and car seat combo pretty good ratings, between 3½ to 4½ stars.

  • Fully reclining, enclosed seat for newborns
  • Specially designed insert for smaller babies

Secure and safe from little to big

The stroller is also outfitted for very small babies with head and body support. The seat can also recline flat and the leg rest can fold up, making an enclosed infant bed. This is a very nice feature to have for babies who need this extra security; it creates a sort of cocoon for them.

The seat reclines in four positions and you can adjust the recline one-handed with a simple pull of a lever. Very easy!

Once your child grows, he or she can ride in the Endeavor stroller up until the 50 pound weight limit is reached. Since the seat is wide and roomy, your bigger kid will be comfortable with plenty of space. The top of the seat and canopy easily clear even tall preschool aged tall children.

The 5-point safety harness is designed to allow for a comfortable and solid fit over different parts of the body. The harness is adjustable, both at the shoulders and between the legs, giving your child adequate room for growth.

And speaking of adjustable customized options, you will be amazed at how sun canopy can extend down as far as the snack tray. The back of the canopy comes away from the parent tray, so it is not continuous coverage, but it should block the sun from any angle with this handy feature. When the car seat is in place in the stroller, both canopies meet for complete coverage, although there have been reviews showing a gap. The canopy also has a little sun visor you can flip out and a peek-a-boo window to keep an eye on your little one.

How's the handling?

The large 8½" front wheels and 9½" rear wheels with front wheel suspension glide over many different types of terrain without disturbing baby. While this stroller isn't meant for all-terrain use, you can still take it over grass and gravel and the shocks take it well.

While this stroller weighs a large 28 pounds, it is very sturdy. Because of the weight, though, maneuverability is going to be a bit tougher with only one hand. You are going to need both hands to push this stroller, but it turns easily.

Storage solutions

This Eddie Bauer travel system has a large storage basket beneath the seat that is big enough to store a large diaper bag and more. The basket has a spring-release feature, which allows it to flex downward to access your bags when the seat is in full recline. This way you can get to your things while your baby is sleeping or your car seat is in place.

The trays on the Eddie Bauer Endeavor are fantastic; you get a parent tray with two deep cup holders, two small compartments by the cup holders and a covered compartment for keys or cell phone. The child snack tray also has two cup holders and a compartment for little snacks to nibble on. The snack tray can swivel on one side allowing your child to get in and out easily.

When you're ready to put your stroller away, this stroller folds up quick and nice, all one handed. It is self-standing, too, which is a huge convenience while you're attending to other issues and you don't want it getting dirty on the ground or have to stoop down to get it. Unfolding is just as easy, too.

However, the Endeavor does not fold up compactly. It's size takes up quite a bit of space and you're going to have to make sure you have adequate trunk space for it.

What others are saying

Moms have given resounding compliments about the smooth ride in their Eddie Bauer travel system reviews.

Endeavor owners also gave a thumbs-up to the generous storage basket beneath the seat and the easy access they to their belongings when the seat was reclined when using the spring-down access feature. Reviews came in about the sturdiness and durability of this stroller and parents appreciated their organization tray and cup holders, too.

Parents love the one-handed standing fold. "What ended up selling me was the fact that I could make it collapse with one hand (essential if you are holding the carseat with the other or out by yourself). All the other systems required two hands to setup & collapse."

Mothers all over the web reported that they love the fabric patterns on the Endeavor. This Eddie Bauer travel system set LOOKS expensive, but is quite economical. Many easy-to-clean fabrics found on baby gear can be hard and plasticky feeling, but on the Eddie Bauer travel system, it's far softer.

Still not sure about this brand? Check out the Graco Quattro Tour travel system - it is very similar with a similar price point, too.

Disadvantages

The complaint most written about was the fact that the car seat is heavy. It is heavier than most infant car seats, weighing nine pounds, and that weight will go up quickly as your child grows.

A few parents had trouble getting this bulky stroller into their mid-side sedan trunk, but most reviewers recognize that most full-featured strollers were going to be heavy and bulky.

More parents have had some issues with the safety harness being complicated to buckle into place properly.
