Mid Range All Terrain Stroller 2018 Reviews & Ratings

Excellent Performance, Full-Featured

Each mid range all terrain stroller in this category is between $200-$400. Use this guide to find the best one for 2018.

In the mid range category, all-terrain strollers have excellent suspension systems. The design is updated every few years with many brands, and contemporary fabrics and colors compliment each other. Here you may or may not get a child's snack tray, but often times, if you don't get a tray you may get a bumper bar or little pocket for your child's sippy cup or bottle.

The most common compliments for a mid range all terrain stroller are the smooth suspension system, easy maneuvering, and large sun canopies. While these strollers are heavier than the high end brands, they are not monsters. But just about any all terrain stroller is going to be heavier and bulkier unless you pay the big bucks.

Mid Range All Terrain Strollers Guide for 2018

BOB Rambler

$360

Are the phenomenal BOB strollers a little out of your budget? BOB has thought of you when they released the new Rambler.

The BOB Rambler is a simplified version of the super-popular BOB Revolution Flex. While still packed with fantastic features, the Rambler does not have the adjustable height handle; it's at 39 inches high. The second difference is that it has three 12-inch air-filled tires instead of the Revolution Flex's 16-inch rear tires. Those are the only two main differences, and you get this stroller for much less!

Weighing just over 25 pounds, the BOB Rambler stroller is lightweight, folds up easily and storage is a snap. Built with a superb suspension system, your Rambler goes over the toughest terrain with ease and agility. Many have compared BOB strollers to mountain bikes for the precision suspension, tires and rugged frame.

If you have a newborn, the Rambler takes the BOB infant car seat by Britax or other major brand car seat with adapters sold separately, for a convenient travel system. The ultra-padded multi-position reclining seat has a deep recline and also sits up straight so your passenger can take part in your adventures. You'll appreciate the full-coverage UPF 50+ canopy and generous storage basket. The fold and unfold is easy peasy.

Customer reviews so far are rating it between 3½-5 stars for an average 4-star review. They like the roomy, comfortable seat, the smooth ride and excellent maneuverability.

Chicco Activ3

$300

It's been awhile since Chicco offered an all-terrain stroller, but now we're delighted to have one in the newer Activ3. This is the kind you use for both everyday outings and exercise because it is light weight but with all the features you need.

Weighing only 27 pounds, the Activ3 accommodates your child from 6 months old up to 50 pounds. For newborns, attach a Chicco Keyfit car seat for your own travel system.

The handlebar has a lot going on around it. First, it is adjustable in 5 positions. Then you have a hand-controlled brake so as not to interrupt your stride. A hand-controlled switch flips the front swivel wheel into locked and unlocked positions.

An ample sun canopy with peek-a-boo window, child bumper bar, 5-point padded safety harness and multi-position reclining seat round out the features that make outings and adventures a positive experience for both you and baby. Maintenance-free rubber tires with suspension smooth out the ride. If you want more of a performance stroller, and stay within mid-range budget ($380), check out the Chicco Tre, which has the larger rear tires and a slowing hand-brake on the handle bar.

So far the reviews have been very good with an average 4 stars across different web retailers. Parents enjoy the versatility for light jogs and power walks, while at the same time using their Activ3 for casual outings and errands. Graco Relay

$330-$343 (depending on color/seller)

Entering into the world of high-performance joggers, Graco introduces the Relay. Unlike other high-performance joggers or all-terrain strollers, the Relay includes all the accessories we come to expect like a child's cup holder/bumper bar, parent cup holders and adequate storage.

But all those accessories don't add up to a huge amount of bulk. The Relay weighs only 28 pounds, holds your child up to 50 pounds and can accommodate a total weight of 70 pounds. Pretty amazing, plus you will get a phenomenal workout pushing an extra 70 pounds.

The Relay is made with avid joggers in mind and it has high ratings for the premium suspension system, so important to smooth out the ride when you're going fast. The quick, one-handed one-second fold is getting rave reviews as is the convenient Click Connect travel system option.
