Phil and Teds Stroller

Known for Their Unique Inline Buggies

The Phil and Teds stroller is a uniquely styled inline buggy with a growing loyal following.

Phil and Teds is a fast-growing juvenile products company based in Wellington, New Zealand. They are most famous for their in-line double strollers, which uses a second seat attachment. It was founded by a father and son team in 1994 and was later purchased by Campbell Gower who became CEO of the company in 1998.

The popularity of the Phil and Teds line grew and so did the company, expanding today into more than 40 countries with major markets throughout Europe, the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Phil and Teds makes not only their unique in-line strollers (or buggies as they're also called) but high chairs, car seats, infant carriers, bassinets and travel cots as well.

Why should I choose a Phil and Teds product?

Phil and Teds aspires "to be the number one brand of choice for parents, allowing them to continue to lead a dynamic and active lifestyle, with kids in tow". This is very appealing to parents with active lifestyles. And active parents want to make sure their precious children are safe while out on the latest adventure. Phil and Teds Strollers at a Glance

Phil and Teds has seven in-line models available in a variety of attractive color schemes. They also carry a lightweight umbrella stroller as well as an über high-tech jogging stroller. Let's briefly look each Phil and Teds stroller, shall we?

Phil & Teds Promenade
View/Buy Product

Phil and Teds Promenade

The newest and most luxurious Phil and Teds stroller to debut in 2012 is the premium Promenade. This is a sophisticated convertible stroller with a doubles option meant for city use. The seat on the Promenade morphs into a flat-bed bassinet and sits higher on the frame as baby faces you for better bonding.

Once you have two children or have twins, add the second seating option, whether you use the bassinet, car seat, or any number of variations. However you use the Promenade, what makes it spectacular is that you can use it for children up to 4 years old.

Other features that savvy moms and dads appreciate are the telescoping handle bar that extends way out and the large sun canopy with zippered extension panel for extra sun coverage. The maneuverability is incredible - one dad turned it all the way around in an elevator in NYC! The fold and smooth gliding wheels also get raves in early blog reviews.

Take a look at this demo video of the Promenade until the review.

Phil and Teds Vibe

The Phil and Teds Vibe is a highly attractive, sleek looking Phil and Teds stroller. Version 2 is the newer improved Vibe model and that's what is showcased here on Stroller Envy.

The slim frame is strong and sturdy and it has an adjustable ergonomic handle for parents of varying height. Something called a steel j-bar is constructed with the front swivel wheel to allow for even greater maneuverability and performance. Then for your added convenience, the Vibe can be folded with the doubles kit attached.

You will be impressed with the improvements for your baby's comfort; read about them in the detailed review.

Phil and Teds Verve
View/Buy Product

Phil and Teds Verve

Let your eyes take in the beauty of this stunning buggy. It is absolutely gorgeous and it is one of the newer Phil and Teds product, the Verve.

Based on a similar design to the Vibe 2, the Verve is a 4-wheeler that is 10% more compact. The two front wheels provide better stability and boast suspension coils for a ride as smooth as butter.

The Verve has some more differences with the Vibe such as a 6-position adjustable handle and a Seat Performance system. The second seat you can purchase as part of the doubles kit has a 3-position recline feature, plus an included hood. Most rumble seats on inline strollers don't offer a recline or sun canopy! You will also appreciate that you can fold this Phil and Teds stroller with the doubles kit attached and the Verve folds flat.

Phil and Teds Classic Stoller
View/Buy Product

Phil and Teds Classic

The Classic model is a step down from the Sport in regards to a smaller price tag and a few less features. This Phil and Teds stroller does not have an adjustable handle like the Sport nor does it have a reclining second seat.

However, the Classic has all the other fantastic features for more budget conscious families who seek the performance and functionality of an incline stroller. The Classic has a three-position reclining stroller seat and a large sun canopy with a handy flip-out sun visor. The double rear brake and five-point safety harness exceed international safety standards.

The Classic folds up nice and compact for convenient storage and the basket beneath the seat is spacious enough for all your things. This Phil and Teds stroller boasts superb maneuverability with its state-of-the-art front swivel wheel and air-filled tires.

Phil and Teds Dash
View/Buy Product

Phil and Teds Dash

Made with active urban lifestyles in mind, the Dash has clean lines and high performance functionality. Priced a bit lower than the Vibe, the Dash has some of the same features such as an ergonomic adjustable handle for better handling and a multi-position reclining seat including flat for your newborn. Unlike the Vibe, the Dash takes all the infant car seats mentioned in the introduction.

One of the cool features of this Phil and Teds stroller is the triggered folding mechanism, so that putting it away is a snap. The hand brake is nice to have on the comfortable handle and it exceeds international safety standards.

Your baby rides in style and comfort with a cushy seat, footrest and padded arm bar. You can interact with baby with the peek-a-boo window in the canopy.

Phil and Teds Hammerhead
View/Buy Product

Phil and Teds Hammerhead

Presenting the only inline Phil and Teds stroller with four wheels: the Hammerhead, named for the shark. The Hammerhead is basically the Explorer with four wheels instead of three and the Hammerhead has a fabric footrest instead of a firm plastic that the Explorer has. It's been described as the Phil and Teds 4WD model.

The Hammerhead is perfect for parents who want the versatility of an urban stroller, yet can be taken out on different types of terrain.

The front two wheels swivel for superb maneuverability and they also have a locking option, providing additional stability on uneven surfaces.

If you get the doubles kit with the Hammerhead, you'll be pleased to know that the additional seat, as well as the main seat, recline for your children's comfort. The main seat can recline completely flat, a necessity for newborns.

The adjustable handle on the Hammerhead provides more comfort and control for parents of varying height, and this Phil and Teds stroller also folds up quick with the trigger folding mechanism. Storage is easy with the compact folded size.

Phil and Teds Smart Buggy

Smart Buggy

The Smart Buggy is super portable, lightweight with compact clean lines; it is the smallest Phil and Teds stroller. This lightweight umbrella stroller has it all for your city sidewalk or shopping mall walks. This Buggy is very cute and popular with sites like Babble, who voted it as the best lightweight stroller for 2011. However, real reviews say otherwise and parents have been giving it a 3½-star rating.

Features the parents enjoy include adjustable handles for comfort and better control and a lightweight aluminum frame for easy transport. The Smart Buggy has a single action slide-to-fold functionality that ensures a compact fold for convenient storage.

For baby's comfort, the seat on this Phil and Teds stroller is made of state-of-the-art aerocore material, which is hypo-allergenic, ventilating, waterproof, UV resistant, non-toxic, and cushioning with support. This high tech seat also reclines a bit for little naps.

Phil and Teds Smart Bundle Stroller and Basinet

The Phil and Teds Smart Buggy can also take a car seat. The seat comes out and you can attach either your Graco SnugRide or SnugRide 32 onto the frame.

You can also choose the Smart Bundle (pictured at left) which includes the Peanut Basinet. Change out the seat for the bassinet, which is roomy enough for baby to stretch out in comfortably while you stroll about town. The sun canopy that comes with the seat can even cover the bassinet at different angles, protecting your baby by blocking almost 99% of the harmful UV rays.

Phil and Teds Sub4 Jogging Stroller

Sub4 Jogging Stroller

The Fastest Jogging Stroller in the World.

Talk about a space-age looking piece of machinery; the Phil and Teds Sub4 has a one-of-a-kind design with fully integrated form and function. This Phil and Teds stroller not only looks incredible, it performs like a racing bicycle, using such technology as part of the innovation.

For serious athletes, the features on the Sub4 are precisely engineered for your performance and for baby's comfort and safety. The handle is designed for one-handed control for better running posture. The lightweight stroller frame has been configured for optimal running stride and the low center of gravity provides optimal speed and performance. For safety and control at such speeds, a dual brake system is implemented.

The seat on the Sub4 uses aerocore technology (see the last video presentation) which makes maintenance and cleanliness very simple, allowing plenty of ventilation for your child. The Sub4 also has a multi-position sun canopy which reflects nearly 99% of the sun's harmful rays.

The braking system with this Phil and Teds stroller apparently uses aerated mini-disc brake technology for optimum safety and another outstanding feature is the motion control hub beneath the seat which controls the suspension and tracking.

Phil and Teds hopes that the Sub4 will put them into the forefront of the jogging stroller category, competing with BOB strollers and Baby Jogger brands.

At the time of writing, the Sub4 is not yet available for sale.
